I think it does based on personal experience. As far as I’m concerned a female is designed to care for her baby not to do the multitude of things we have to these days. Good on you if you can handle it.

Once they name something like this, then it exists. Pretty soon we will be spending millions to research and study it, and eventually it will be given a long medical name…

Oh where to begin… Well I found it interesting that the doctor did not believe the syndrome existed until…pay close attention, she got it HERSELF! Well now let’s find a reason why we can’t function like we used to, name it, make it a syndrome, and not look any further.
Ok, there was a note of sarcasm. I have always JOKED that each child I have had has sucked more brain matter out of my head. I write things down now, etc. to help me manage everything.
When you have children learning the juggling act is an experience. Everyone comes to the experience with a different set of skills.
What is being labeled as a syndrome only seems to occur from an external stimuli, when taken away, it didn’t happen as the reporter stated.
Sorry about the length on that one.

For some odd reason the video just kept playing commercials – after the thrird try I gave up. I’m not a commercial love. The video sounded interesting enough to watch tho. I had 3 kids so would have loved to see it. Someone must have thought otherwise.

Most significant emotional events will have an impact on your mindbody. However. just because a couple of Mums forgot a couple of things – which of course had never ever happened before in their lives (maybe they just forgot!) – doesn’t make it a syndrome. Maybe it’s because they were tired, maybe it’s because they were older,… Far too many possibilities to manufacture another syndrome!

Why couldn’t it just be the simple fact that the babies well-being takes over a lot of her thinking? so of course she then will forget more often and such. I can be the same way if I’m distracted about something.

1. Mister P is right, perhaps it was the baby’s well being that took over her mind
2. As moms get older and wiser to the external stimuli and all the requirements to make sure your child is #1 at everything . . . no wonder she glazes over.
We have impossible standards that mom’s are supposed to adhere to.
Including, MILF? Are you kidding? Take care of your children, love, protect, feed and she’s supposed to be hot? What?! No wonder women are losing their minds. There’s a lot of processing to do.

Hi David,
perhaps it does in terms of the chemical overload, sort of overwhelm which is in the brain from all that newly being managed in their family lives.
interesting.

Interesting perspective. What a dreadful title for a syndrome . . . nappy brain. I’ve seen some nappy hair, but nappy brain, yikes.

I agree with Kate about the name that’s being used here.
How about “I’m so damn tired I can’t think straight” syndrome.

I think just watching the clip gave me a bit of nappy brain. It seems those mothers have quite a lot on their plate.I do think it does all come to having to juggle a million things a once. It will be interesting to see what they say about if men are able to suffer from it as well.

David, I can’t get the video to play either. I tried several times, but it is almost 1:00 in the morning, so I give up. From what I can tell from comments from others, it is suggesting that there is a syndrome that women develop from having children that makes them forgetful. If this is so, I want to say that I am one of the many afflicted! I can’t even tell you how many times I have commented or posted about my failing memory. It is so embarrassing, especially when my memory was once a huge asset of mine. Now it is a joke amongst my friends and they laugh at me often because of my forgetfulness – and yes, it began shortly after childbirth.
