Brain Scans Reveals True Love…!
According to the researcher Helen Fischer, it is now possible to see the brain light up when in love with the science of brain imaging machines. Her experiment involved 49 participants who agreed to go through a brain scanner, 17 had just fallen in love, 17 claimed they were still in love after 21 years of marriage and 15 reported that they had recently been rejected. Amazingly, for each group there a seems to be a specific type of brain activity that connected the members to the group they were in. Even if you didnt know anything about the person inside the brain scanner, Helen Fischer believes that you would be able to learn if they have just fallen in love or been attached to a partner for a considerable amount of time. Now Science is able to go to the parts of the human psyche, where only writers and poets have ever dared to go and explain the why and how love happens.
‘Romantic love truly is an addiction; we’ve found activity in brain regions directly associated with cocaine addiction,’ says Fisher. ’Around the world, people pine for love, kill themselves and others for love and slip into clinical depression.’We know this psychologically but without the basic science we might just assume it’s a bad childhood or that they’re weak.
‘We can now say that there’s a genuine biological basis to the extreme behaviour people express when they’re in love.’She’s found that romantic love is not an emotion but a mating drive, one that’s even stronger than the sex drive.’You can ask somebody to go to bed with you casually and when they say no, you don’t kill yourself.
‘But around the world, when someone is rejected in love they can stop eating and sleeping, stalk people and commit suicide or homicide. Love is a powerful mating system.’
‘When you read the great novels they’re not about people who died because they couldn’t get sex, they’re about people who died for love.’

“you would be able to learn if they have just fallen in love or been attached to a partner for a considerable amount of time” This sounds like something that will lead to a product designed for men and women to find out if there cheating spouses were lying about how long they were dating their “new friend.” lol

All’s well until you are on the wrong side of that rejection . . . as in when you do the rejecting. Then you end up with a nutcase following you around. So how do you blank out that love part of the brain for the other person so you can go your separate ways?

So romantic love is to crack as sex is to potato chips?
Romance you have to have, potato chips are just delicious.
So the next date I”ll have to decide if he’s romance material or just a potato chip.

It is amazing all the things that have been discovered about the brain. I have to agree that people do the strangest things when they are in love. I see some of it here at the bridal shop and hear too much about the bad effects on the news. Of course they don’t tell us the good things that happen around the world just the bad.

Does the brain really fall in love with the science of brain imaging machinery?
Sorry, Brian, but sometimes I just want to get something down on paper and move on. Bye!
